Nan Yang, Co-Chair
Nan Yang is the Leslie O. Barnes Professor of Management at the University of Miami Business School. Her research interests include supply risk management, integrated supply and demand management, pharmaceutical supply chain management, healthcare operations, and competition in supply chain. Her work has been published in Management Science, Operations Research, Manufacturing and Service Operations Management, and Production and Operations Management.

Zahra Azadi
Zahra Azadi is an Associate Professor of Professional Practice in Operations and Supply Chain Management at the University of Miami Business School. She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Clemson University. Her research focuses on healthcare operations and supply chain analytics, with applications in vaccine supply chain design, inventory management, and stochastic optimization, and has appeared in journals including Annals of Operations Research and Computers & Industrial Engineering.

Zahra serves as the major advisor for the Supply Chain Analytics program and has played an active role in developing and expanding its undergraduate curriculum. She teaches courses in Operations Management, Supply Chain Modeling and Analytics, Supply Chain Strategy, and Global Sourcing. Her teaching emphasizes experiential learning and the application of analytical methods to real-world supply chain challenges. She was awarded a Faculty Learning Community Fellowship as part of the University of Miami’s Quality Enhancement Plan initiative on Learning through Dialogue and Discussion.

Xin Geng
Xin Geng is an associate professor of Management at the University of Miami Business School. His research interests include supply chain strategies, issues from OM/Marketing interface, and optimization models for pricing and revenue management. His work has been published in Management Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and Production and Operations Management. Xin received his Ph.D. in Management Science from the University of British Columbia in 2015, and has worked at the University of Miami since then. 

Kevin Hong
Dr. Kevin Hong is a Miami Herbert Centennial Endowed Chair and Professor at the University of Miami Business School. Dr. Hong’s research interests are in the areas of the Future of Work, Digital Platforms, Digital Media, and Human-AI Interactions. His research has been published in premier journals such as Management Science, Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Production and Operations Management, and INFORMS Journal on Computing. His work has been supported by prestigious grants from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the National Science Foundation. Dr. Hong currently serves as a Senior Editor of Production and Operations Management, and an Associate Editor of Information Systems Research. He also serves as an advisor or research scientist for many tech companies and startups, primarily working with them on large-scale digital field experimentation efforts.

Nina Huang

Masoud Kamalahmadi
Masoud Kamalahmadi is an assistant professor in the Department of Management Science at the University of Miami Business School. His research focuses on the effects of work design (e.g., workload, work schedules, workstations) on the operational performance of service workers such as hospital physicians and restaurant servers. He uses a variety of analytical and empirical tools to provide data-driven insights for service managers in the healthcare and restaurant industries. Kamalahmadi has won first place in the 2018 POMS College of Health Care Operations Management Best Paper Competition and third place in the 2019 INFORMS Service Science Best Paper Award.

Jong Myeong Lim
Jong Myeong Lim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Science and the Department of Health Management and Policy at the University of Miami Business School. He received his BA in Economics and MPA in Health Policy and Management from New York University, MA in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, and PhD in Healthcare Management and Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. His research lies at the intersection of healthcare operations and economics. His work focuses on understanding and developing solutions for key operational challenges faced by healthcare organizations and broader systems, such as capacity management, vertical integration, and payment reforms. He uses a variety of methods in his research, including causal inference, structural estimation, and game theoretic modeling. Prior to his career in academia, he worked as a business analyst at Mount Sinai Health System in New York City.  

Arun Sharma
Dr. Arun Sharma is a professor at the University of Miami Business School and has been recognized as being in the top 1% of marketing professors. Arun has extensive knowledge of firms through his experience in research, consulting, and conducting seminars. He is a well-known expert in Global Market Trends, Leadership Strategies, Sustainable Competitive Strategies, and Market Strategy, and his expertise is in designing and implementing corporate strategies. He has consulted and conducted seminars for companies such as Accenture, Agilent Technologies, Ambrosetti, American Express, AT&T, Bell South, Citrix, Ericcson, Exxon, Goodyear, HP, IBM, Lucent, Macy’s, MasterCard, Motorola, Siemens, Sprint, Telecom Italia, Telecom Italia Mobil, Visa International, Walmart, and Western Union.

He has previously taught at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he received his Ph.D. in marketing in 1988. Arun also has an MBA and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Metallurgy. Before joining the academic world, he worked for three years in a high-technology firm where he handled product and sales management responsibilities.

Arun has published extensively (over 100 refereed articles) and is on the review board of major journals, and has received many excellence in research and teaching awards from the University of Miami Business School. Cong Shi
Cong (Alex) Shi is a Professor in the Department of Management at the University of Miami Business School. Prior to joining the University of Miami, he was a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial and Operations Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, from 2012 to 2023. He received his BS in Mathematics from the National University of Singapore in 2007 and his PhD in Operations Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2012. His research focuses on the design and analysis of efficient and near-optimal algorithms for large-scale business operations, with applications in supply chain management, revenue management, healthcare operations, and human-robot collaboration. His research has been recognized with several awards and honors, including the INFORMS George Nicholson Paper Competition, INFORMS JFIG Paper Competition, Amazon Research Award, and Boeing Research Award. He currently serves as an Area Editor for Operations Research, a Senior Editor for Production and Operations Management, and an Associate Editor for Management Science and Manufacturing & Service Operations Management.

Wei Shi
Wei Shi is a Professor of Management and Cesarano Faculty Scholar at the University of Miami Business School. He obtained his MBA from Tulane University and PhD in business administration from Rice University. His primary research interest focuses on the influence of corporate governance actors and upper echelons on strategic decisions. He has taught courses on strategic management, corporate strategy, strategic governance, and corporate governance. He co-authored the book entitled “Understand and managing strategic governance.” His research has been published at outlets such as Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, and Production and Operations Management, and covered by Harvard Business Review and the Wall Street Journal. He is an associate editor of Journal of Management and sits on the editorial boards of Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of International Business Studies, and Global Strategy Journal. He is a former board member of the International Corporate Governance Society and currently serves as an advisor to VeriStell Institute. 

Xu Sun
Xu Sun is a tenured Associate Professor of Management Science at the University of Miami Business School. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida. He received his Ph.D. in Operations Research from Columbia University.

His research focuses on stochastic systems in service operations and revenue management, including resource allocation, pricing, learning, and decision-making under uncertainty. He develops implementable policies with provable performance guarantees, motivated by applications in service, manufacturing, and energy systems. His research and mentorship have been recognized with the Emerging Scholar Award and the Outstanding Ph.D. Student Mentorship Recognition from the University of Miami Business School.

Sammi Yu Tang
Sammi Tang is Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at the University of Miami Business School. Her research examines supply chain risk management, outsourcing and procurement strategies, sustainable supply chains, healthcare operations, and topics at the interface of operations management and marketing. Her work has appeared in leading journals including Management Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, and Journal of Marketing Research, as well as Decision Sciences and OMEGA. Her research has won the Best Paper Award at international conferences and has been supported by the Boeing Center for Supply Chain Innovation at Washington University, the James W. McLamore Research Award, and the Provost Research Award at the University of Miami.

She serves as Senior Editor for Production and Operations Management and Associate Editor for Decision Sciences, and is a recipient of the M&SOM Meritorious Service Award and the POM Outstanding Reviewer Award. She holds a B.S. from Peking University and an MSBA and Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis.

Ganggang Xu
Ganggang Xu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management Science at the University of Miami Business School. Before that, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Binghamton University, State University of New York, from 2014 to 2018. He received his BS in Statistics from Zhejiang University in 2006 and his PhD in Statistics from Texas A&M University in 2011.

His research focuses on the non-/semi-parametric regression, functional data analysis, spatial/temporal point process, and time series on the network. His work has been published in top academic journals, including the Journal of the American Statistical Association, Journal of Machine Learning Research, Annals of Statistics, Biometrika, Journal of Econometrics, etc.

Jingwen Tang
Jingwen Tang is an Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Miami Business School. Her research interests broadly encompass learning algorithms and data-driven optimization. Specific topics include sequential decision-making under uncertainty and online and offline learning algorithms, with a particular focus on applications in supply chain management and revenue management. Jingwen earned her Ph.D. in Operations Research and Scientific Computing from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 2024 before joining the University of Miami.

Marco Testoni
Marco Testoni is an Assistant Professor of Strategy at the University of Miami Business School. He received his PhD in Strategy from UCLA Anderson School of Management. His research focuses on corporate strategy, with a particular interest in mergers and acquisitions, and investigates factors that affect firms’ ability to appropriate value from acquisitions. His research has been published in the Strategic Management Journal and Research Policy and has received scholarly awards, including the Wiley Blackwell Outstanding Dissertation Award in Strategic Management and the Best Corporate Strategy Interest Group Proposal Award at the Strategic Management Society Annual Conference.

Hari Natarajan
Hari Natarajan is Professor of Management at the University of Miami Business School (MBS). Until recently, he served as Vice Dean of Business Programs, overseeing the school’s comprehensive portfolio of undergraduate and graduate programs, which grew in size, quality, and reputation during his tenure. Previously, he served as Academic Director of the school’s Global Executive MBA program. Hari received his undergraduate degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and MS and PhD degrees (with dual titles in Business Administration and Operations Research) from the Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business, where he won the Alumni Association Award for his doctoral dissertation.

Hari’s research develops and applies optimization models to support practical decision-making in supply chains and service networks, with recent work spanning sourcing and procurement coordination, dynamic pricing, assortment and inventory planning, and healthcare service delivery. His work has appeared in journals including Management Science, Operations Research, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, Decision Sciences, and INFORMS Journal on Applied Analytics. He has worked on collaborative research projects with several companies including Armstrong, Capital One, Corning, Florida Panthers, Intcomex, Uponor Aldyl, and Watsco. He has also been a technical advisor for analytics firms such as Marketics and LatentView, and serves as a non-executive director on the board of MetaCorp. His research has won awards including the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineering IIE Transactions Best Paper Award in Scheduling and Logistics, and his work has been supported by the eBusiness Research Center and the Center for Supply Chain Research at Penn State, the Center for International Business Education and Research, and the James W. McLamore Award and Provost’s Research Award at the University of Miami. He was named a Presidential Innovation Fellow at the University of Miami and is a recipient of the business school’s Faculty Service Award.

Hari is a Senior Editor of the Production and Operations Management Journal and previously served as Associate Editor of the Decision Sciences Journal and President of the South Florida chapter of INFORMS (The Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences). He serves on the board of the Graduate Business Curriculum Roundtable and on the board of the Anthony Burns Center for Advanced Supply Chain Management, and has represented the University of Miami in the ACC Academic Leaders Network.

Hari is keenly interested in curricular innovation and in positioning students for career success, an interest that led him to work with colleagues to create the Miami Method, the school’s signature framework for decision-making at the intersection of data, AI, and human judgment. At the University of Miami Business School, he teaches courses on operations and supply chain management at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels, and has developed new courses at each of those levels. He has been recognized for teaching excellence by several cohorts of the MBA program, including the Professional MBA, Global EMBA, and EMBA for Artists and Athletes programs.

Chao Qin
Chao Qin is an Assistant Professor of Management at University of Miami Business School. Previously, he received his Ph.D. in Decision, Risk, and Operations from Columbia Business School and was a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford Graduate School of Business. His research lies at the interface of sequential decision-making under uncertainty, statistical machine learning, and artificial intelligence. He develops principled methodologies in experimental design, multi-armed bandits, reinforcement learning, and causal inference, with a particular emphasis on addressing real-world challenges through system-level modeling and algorithmic design. Outside academia, he worked on research teams at Google DeepMind, Amazon AI, Scale AI, and Adobe Research.

Xu Zheng
Xu Zheng is a Ph.D. student in Management Science at the University of Miami Business School.
