SNEAKER IMPACT
Sneaker Impact is a for-profit social enterprise that seeks to educate the public on the benefits of recycling used sneakers and the impact this can have on the environment. Sneaker Impact collects used sneakers, sells them at a reduced price to small businesses in developing countries, and oversees the revitalizing of these shoes so that they can be sold as affordable footwear where it otherwise would not be available. Additionally, they process shoes and recycle them into new products. Sneaker Impact has helped oversee the recycling of almost sixteen million pairs of shoes! The Hyperion Council has been working with Sneaker Impact for two semesters now in a variety of areas. This is an exciting opportunity for the Council to support a small business in the area that is making a difference in the community!

Guatemala - May 2026
A group of Hyperion Council members traveled to Santiago Atitlán, Guatemala, where they worked alongside local entrepreneurs and community members to support sustainable economic development through financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and business strategy. Throughout the project, Titans led hands-on workshops focused on practical skills that participants could apply directly to their businesses, including budgeting, tracking income and expenses, reinvesting profits, marketing, and using social media to reach new customers. Through this experience, the Hyperion Council applied its consulting and business knowledge beyond the classroom while learning directly from the people and culture of Santiago Atitlán, a predominantly Indigenous community on Lake Atitlán.
Costa Rica - May 2025
A group of four Hyperion Council members partnered with Peacework for their annual international consulting trip, this time to the rural town of Turrialba, Costa Rica. The council supported local students and women entrepreneurs through community-driven workshops focused on personal finance, small business operations, and marketing. Topics included budgeting, branding, pricing strategies, customer engagement, and financial goal-setting. Through collaboration and cultural exchange, the team helped strengthen local businesses while gaining invaluable global consulting experience.
Belize - May 2022
A group of seven Titans had the opportunity to partner with Peacework International and the Ministry of Education of Belize to travel to Belize City to teach three classes of financial literacy and entrepreneurship. Over the course of five days, Titans taught the students about setting goals, needs and wants, saving, budgeting, investing, borrowing, financial pitfalls, entrepreneurship, and self-esteem and confidence. The Titans also presented to a group of entrepreneurs and the Holy Redeemer Credit Union about how to utilize social media marketing and metrics to advertise and scale their businesses.
Barbados - May 2023
The Hyperion Council conducted small business consulting, leadership, entrepreneurial workshops, and training sessions specifically targeting micro and small business entrepreneurs. Tradewind Tankers (TWT) and the Hyperion Council extended this opportunity to the Barbadian community with the support and help of The Barbados National Oil Company Limited.
A group of titans conducted full-scale operations to deliver small business development training and workshops to a target group of entrepreneurs. These workshop materials focused on various areas such as Social Media and Marketing, Business Plan development, and Leadership and Emotional Intelligence in Business. In addition to this, similar to the project in Belize outlined above, we engaged with students to teach financial literacy and entrepreneurship.
